Jury of the RAD Race edition 2004
The RAD Race is closely monitored by an independent expert jury, consisting of:
- Carlos De Backer is professor in ICT at the University of Antwerpen. He teaches on Management Information Systems; computer audit and computer networks. He is secretary of SAI, member of the editorial board of 'Data News' and 'Informatie' (IT magazines) and expert for Belgian justice on ICT-related problems.
- Dirk Deschoolmeester is professor in ICT; partner of Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and professor at Gent University. He is a member of the board of SAI and chairman of FBVI-FAIB.
- Jan Detremmerie is an independent IT consultant. His former activities were in advanced RDBMS systems and the development of multi-platform middleware.
- Peter Hinssen is the founder of e-COM (founded in 1995, acquired by Alcatel), StreamCase (founded in 2000, acquired by Belgacom) and Porthus (founded in 1999). He is the chairman of Porthus, coach of Amplexor and partner of The Originals. He was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at McKinsey & Company, and is a frequent international lecturer.
- Jacques Vandenbulcke is professor in ICT at the KUL Leuven. He teaches on Relational, OO-Relational and OO database systems and Data Warehousing. He is chairholder of the SAP-Chair 'Extended Enterprise Infrastructures', president of SAI and member of the advisory board of PICS BELGIUM.
- Guido Van Humbeeck is member of the board SAI and Senior Partner Application Engineers. He has over 20 years experience in application development and ICT in general. As Senior Partner at Application Engineers he is involved in several strategic projects where the latest technologies .NET and J2EE are used. Architecture, from business to technology, is his key interest.
- Ivan Verborgh is head of administration and IT in a healthcare facility. He is the driving force behind the RAD Race in concept, preparation and "hands-on" realisation. He is the author of all the RAD Race cases since 1997. Mr. Verborgh is member of the ICT group of MOVI; guest lecturer in IT at the Provinciale Hogeschool Limburg and author for Informatie. He was elected "Datanews ICT Manager 2004" - First Nominee Small & Medium Sized Businesses.
